What I like most about InterContinental Dubai Marina is the gorgeous scent. From the second you step into the hotel until the moment you leave, the calming, signature fragrance envelopes you. It is so good, it almost makes you want to move in. And move in you can, for the hotel has 196 Residential Suites hidden away, perfect for the discerning guest seeking rest and relaxation. You could while away your days at the pool, your evenings drinking bespoke cocktails or bubbles at The Social Room, or take up residency in the spa. I was not allowed to move in permanently however, so I just opted to stay for the afternoon.
Why visit… the hotel has just launched its signature journey, Urban Retreat, ideal for those seeking a little refuge in the heart of the marina. Even if you can only spare an hour, it is perfect for hiding away for a little rest and relaxation.
Why not… sample the ESPA aromatherapy massage. I chose to take my treatment with detoxifying oil, which combines cypress to purify, grapefruit to revitalise, whilst the almond oil nourishes the skin. My therapist Ming had magical hands and within moments I drifted off. Whilst I can recall only fragments of the treatment, when I awoke, my limbs no longer ached and my soul felt soothed.
Take five ... sit and savour the hibiscus and wild rose tea. The delicate rose petals perfectly set off the hibiscus and combine to create a delicious tea that is high in antioxidants and helps aid continued relaxation.
Take home … ESPA’s Optimal Skin ProSerum enriched with nourishing Vitamins A & E and natural extracts of sunflower, this gorgeous oil ensures the ‘just left the spa’ glow stays with you. Or, perhaps one of Naïla Chbib‘s gorgeous cover-ups, which are exclusively available at the hotel.
